Why do people still look for PayPal Philippines?

The keyword “paypal philippines” is still one of the top searches on my old blog.

PayPal has been available in the Philippines since October. What are they looking for?

My guess is, it’s people who want to know how to receive payments through PayPal. This is not yet supported.

Are they using PayPal alternatives? How are they?

Since it’s December, maybe they want to receive money and get remittance for Christmas?

  1. migs,

i have a current project that requires credit card payments from foreigners, any suggestions?

paypal would really be nice, but currently that means setting up a business on their merchant account supported countries.

    tia!

    chairs!

    nox

  2. There are a number of payment gateways. Sorry I am not too familiar with them – hope someone could pitch in!

  3. i’ve been using paypal here in the US, its easy to pay using my credit card, all i need is the other person’s email. this is one reason why i also love ebay.

  4. my comments are sometimes not published, this is like the 5th of 6th blog that has ignored my comments. only yuga’s blog likes me

  5. issai, I’m not ignoring your comments. I just moderate all the comments posted here, and it’s likely that the other blogs do the same.

  6. Try Xoom.com. Payments can be made through PayPal, and the money can be picked up or deposited in a Philippine-based bank account.

    • is it still available right now?

  7. Xoom is OK for personal payments but it is not an e-commerce solution.

  8. try http://www.2checkout.com we had helped some local e-commerce site using their payment gateway. thanks

  9. I hope 2checkout is a good solution for nox’s question…

  10. I think paypal going to the PHilippines is a little too late already especially if it is only half-hearted without the full-capabilities.

Please note there are lots of problems with paypal which may be found in http://www.paypalsucks.com and you should think twice about using them due to their lousy seller protection policies.

I believe that Google Checkout should open in the Philippines or at least become International. They will be the real paypal-killer.

How many years will we wait again for Google checkout to be available in this country?

  11. Yes that would be great for merchants. Let’s bug Aileen about it.

But it’s not for person-to-person transactions.

  12. Try the service of pinoy money talk. I tried it twice to send payments in ebay and I can say that they’re very reliable. I think they also offer to receive paypal on your behalf. Here’s the link: http://www.pinoymoneytalk.com/pmt-paypal-service/

  13. Thanks for the Pinoy Money Talk info. I came across this as well.

So, searchers, what are you looking for?

  14. Hi Miguel,

I was able to make purchases in google checkout using my international credit card. You just have to give a city/state/zip in usa

    Example

    Ship to:

    NCR Philippines
    Mandaluyong, IL 60089
    United States

You can choose not to post this so it wont be leaked out.

How are you doing? Havent seen you since that night at watering hole when you were with Wilbert

  15. Hi Mark! I’m cool. See you on the reunion on the 20th? I didn’t see you at our grand reunion…

Anyway, there is no problem in buying stuff from many/most sites. The problem is in accepting payments, either as a merchant or person-to-person.

  16. : ) Will Paypal allow us to accept payment if we use an US bank account? It seems possible based on what is offered under withdrawal options.

  17. : ) Will Paypal allow us to accept payment if we use a US bank account? It seems possible based on what is offered under withdrawal options.

  18. Yes you can withdraw to a US bank account.

The question is: will PayPal allow you to signup from the Philippines? Or, if you have an existing account, will they allow you to login and access your account from here?

  19. I’ll try and will post it here if it works : )

  20. There’s another site that offers payment for ebay and other online purchases. Check out Philpay at http://www.philpay.net and http://www.philpay.com. They also have remittance and domestic money transfer service. I think it’s cool.

  30. Have you ever considered about including a little bit more than just your
articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and everything.
Nevertheless imagine if you added some great photos or video
clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and
clips, this site could definitely be one of
the greatest in its field. Excellent blog!
